Germantown, New York
In 1710, Robert Livingston sold 6,000 acres of his property to Anne, Queen of Great Britain, for use as work camps and resettlement of Palatine German refugees. Some 1,200 persons were settled at work camps to manufacture naval stores and pay off their passage as indentured labor.
Johann “Joseph” Finkle, an ancestor on my father’s side, was born there. -
Frederick Reinhardt 1825
An ancestor on my father’s side is Frederick Reinhardt. He was born in 1825 in the Province of Saxony, Prussia (now Germany). I always thought Prussia was a pretty word.

Ancestry Issues
If you notice, I have a lot more to post on my mother’s side then my fathers. I’m hitting a lot of brick walls. I’m hoping this will change. ❤
I’ve been interested in early America 1600s and 1700s and where in Europe my ancestors are from. Once you go back that far there are so many ancestors to go through on my mother’s side and not as many on my fathers.
